Women's Prison Massacre (1983) 7/10

Women's Prison Massacre is yet another sleaze fest from Bruno Mattei. Much like his other films, this exploitation flick is filled with everything I've come to expect from the genre: nudity, gore, violence, and a ridiculous plot. This one has them all in spades.

Laura Gesmer once again plays the beautiful and oft troubled Emannuelle. This time she's an investigative reporter that gets sent to prison after she gets too close to a powerful politician. She is met upon arriving a system of brutality ruled by the strongest inmates and corrupt guards. Emannuelle must fight back to stay alive in this concrete jungle. Things go from bad to worse when a group of men convicted of rape and murder are sent to the prison temporarily but take over and hold the women hostage. Now the real fight for life begins.

Women's Prison Massacre is filled with totally cheesy lines like, " I hate you so much I want to bite your nipples off!" Even if I tried to spoof flicks like this I doubt I could come up with a more ludicrous line then that! Lots of baton beatings ensue as well, and many of the strikes come out of nowhere adding to the hilarity of the film. This is yet another perfect example of a film being so bad its good. Of course the film is pretty distasteful as well as is the case with most of these films, several rapes occur too but at least the men get whats coming to them I suppose.

Overall, Women's Prison Massacre is a great cheesy exploitation flick and does indeed live up to its reputation. Check it out if you're a fan of Italian flicks done in the worst taste possible.
